Quality is woven into the culture at Redbourn Engineering. We believe that the key elements essential in achieving our objectives are the provision of appropriate training, the right equipment, continual communication and the promotion of quality throughout the company.

We have risen to meet the high demands of the global market and through our continuous development of the business are now accredited to ISO9001, TS16949 and ISO14001.

From initial quote and feasibility studies we ensure that customer requirements are correctly captured.

We have a select group of approved suppliers whose performance is monitored to guarantee that supply to our customer is consistent and to the same high standards we set for ourselves. Of course we have also built strong partnerships with customer specific suppliers in both the UK and further afield.

We create a specific set of documents for each job to make sure the part is produced to meet the correct specifications. If there are any specific documents required by our customer, eg special test methods, certificates of conformity, these will be detailed on the control plans in the production pack.

As well as using traditional instruments such as micrometers, digital calipers and a shadowgraph projector to inspect components, our state of the art OGP Smartscope video measuring machine ensures consistent measurement of complex shapes and forms and surface finish detail. This enables us to measure up to three decimal places and as this is also a programmable machine we can ensure the accuracy of multi part measurement. A report can be produced from this unit which could be incorporated into any SPC requirement the customer may have.

Our commitment to reducing our impact on the environment has led us on the path to ISO14001 accreditation, which we achieved in August 2008.

We have a number of improvement measures in place, including a reduction in the amount of packaging we use. If it is possible for us to use reusable packaging we will negotiate this with our customers to reach the best solution for them and the environment!
